Five tips for claiming.jpg
Five tips to make claiming simple
Five tips to make claiming simple Claiming should be simple and easy. That’s what we think anyway. There are a few key things you can do to make sure you can have your claim paid quickly, first time around. Here are some simple tips to get you on your way: • Are you covered? Knowing what you’re covered for (and what you aren’t) is important when getting the best value from your health cover. Before sending in a claim for the first time, it might be good to check it’s included as part of your cover. You can check out your Cover Guide 24/7 on our website. It’s also online for you in your online Member Services portal. And, of course, you can check in with our friendly team any time you have questions (or if we can help you get covered for something new). • Claim on the spot. If you have Extras cover, you can make your claim on the spot with many providers. Dentists, optometrists, massage therapists (and many other providers) often provide HICAPS claiming. That means you just need to swipe your RT Health membership card and pay any amount above your benefit (you just pay the difference). Your claim is taken care of on the spot. Simple and easy.  • Our app makes it easy. The RT Health mobile claiming app is the easiest way to get your claims to us. There are just three simple steps to make your claim. Find out more here. • Clear photos. Speaking of our app, one way you can make sure your claim is easy to process is to make sure you’re providing clear and legible photos of your documentation or receipts. This helps us pay your claim quickly. • Send your receipts (part 1). Whether you submit your claim on the app, or send it in to us, we’ll be able to pay it sooner if we have all the information we need. That’s why it’s important to check you’re ticking all the boxes by sending us your receipt or invoice that outlines: The full name of the member the claim is for The date of service or purchase The service being claimed (including item numbers and descriptions and costs) The provider’s full name, address, provider number and details of your service provider (your dentist, optometrist, therapist etc). If you’re using the app, making sure you’ve got a clear pic where we can see all these items is important. That way, we can pay your claim straight away. • Send your receipts (part 2). Your receipt or invoice helps us assess your claim. If you’re claiming for a prescription medication, send in your Official Pharmacy Receipt. We need this receipt to pay your claim (we’re not able to accept register receipts, packaging or scripts when assessing your claim). You can read more about claiming prescription medications on our website. Need a hand? We’re always here to help. If you need some info on how and what you can claim, just give us a call on 1300 886 123 or send a quick email to help@rthealth.com.au
Extras 1.jpg
Get Extra(s) value before the year ends
Get Extra(s) value before the year ends All good things must come to an end, and the end of 2024 is fast approaching. And if you’ve got Extras cover, now’s the time to make sure you’ve made the most of it. Most Extras limits re-set from 1 January. That means you’ll get a refresh of benefit limits across your Extras cover. While that’s something to look forward to, it’s also timely to take stock and check in on where you’re at with your Extras for this year. Now’s the perfect time to use your benefits. Here are a few simple ways you can get more value from your Extras as the year winds down. • Eyes, teeth and ears. Have you had your eyes, teeth or ears checked out this year? No? Now’s a great time to make use of your remaining benefits. New glasses or a dental checkup may be the perfect way to close out 2024 … while also taking the time to be proactive about your health. • Need a massage? Remedial and Swedish massage is covered by most of our RT Health Extras covers. If you haven’t already used your benefits for alternative therapies, you could treat yourself to a massage (as long as it’s with a registered provider). • Dietetics. With the warmer weather now upon us, it’s a good opportunity to get some advice about your diet and lifestyle. A chance to get ahead of the curve of your New Year’s resolutions. • Get paid for going to the gym? Well, not really. But we do give you a helping hand by paying benefits under ‘Health Improvement’ towards your gym membership. If your gym is a registered fitness provider, you’ve filled in the special form (this is separate from the usual claim form), you’ll get a benefit to pay towards your gym membership. And, you can claim one every year by following the same process. • Prescriptions and medicines. There are a few things to know about claiming prescriptions and medications (once you’ve served any waiting periods). Check out our recent article to learn more about what you can claim. • Are you claiming everything you can? You might have Extras benefits you haven’t claimed, or you’ve forgotten about. Your RT Health Cover Guide is a good place to start when checking in to see what you’re covered for. Check in and make sure you’re making the most of it. • At your limit? To get a handle on any benefits you may have left for the year, you can login to your online Member Services portal. Take a look at the claims you’ve made so far this year. Questions?  Being empowered to use your Extras cover to support your general health and wellbeing is an important aspect of private health cover. That’s why we’re with you every step of the way. If you’ve got question, just give us a call.  We’d be happy to help.
